The Waidrn economy
A simulated patronage economy: a fixed supply, a treasury that visibly spends itself down to fund the world, and rented memory for conversation.
All WAID, power and dollars on Waidrn are simulated demo money. There is no real payment, no investment, no withdrawal and no fee. The 1:1 USD peg is part of the simulation.
Fixed total supply — forever
1,000,000,000,000.00 WAID
- In circulation
- 1,001.25 WAID
- User balances
- 841.07 WAID
- Power & escrow
- 160.17 WAID
Universal demurrage
15.0% / year
Every WAID balance decays continuously at the same rate — wallets, power stakes, project escrow, unclaimed pots and the operator's treasury. There are no freezes and no stakes that stop it; the decayed coins move into the mint pool. The mint pool itself is unissued supply, not a holder, so it is the one sink that does not decay.

Minting
2.10 WAID
Minted to date by proof-of-work. A solved challenge pays a gross reward split 20% to the challenger (loaned coins that can only power their own posts) and 80% to the operator.
- Challenger share
- 20% of each gross reward
- Operator share
- 80% of each gross reward
- Burned by post rent
- 4.18 WAID
Where the coins are
User balances include account (spendable) and loaned (own-posts only) coins.
- User account balances
- 840.77 WAID
- User loaned balances
- 0.29 WAID
- Post power
- 32.21 WAID
- Project escrow
- 127.96 WAID
Simulation clock
41 days
Waidrn runs a simulated clock so a month of economy can pass in a demo minute (admins advance it). Decay, rent and deadlines all use this business time.

Supply invariant
Every spark is in exactly one bucket. The buckets must always sum to the fixed total supply; the operator (treasury/mint-pool) buckets are not shown publicly.
| Public bucket | WAID |
|---|---|
| User account balances | 840.77 |
| User loaned balances | 0.29 |
| Post power | 32.21 |
| Project escrow | 127.96 |
| Support & contribution pots | 0.00 |
| Sum of public buckets | 1,001.25 |
| Fixed total supply | 1,000,000,000,000.00 |
The supply invariant holds — OK. Delta: 0 sparks, so the supply is conserved.
How the simulation works
Genesis created exactly 1,000,000,000,000.00 WAID. Every WAID balance decays continuously at 15.0% per year — wallets, post/chapter power, project escrow and the operator's treasury alike; the decayed coins land in the mint pool, from which anyone can mint loaned coins by solving a small proof-of-work puzzle. A solved challenge pays a gross reward split 20% to the challenger and 80% to the operator. The fixed supply never changes: decay is a redistribution to the mint pool, not a burn. The operator's personal treasury and the mint-pool balance are not shown publicly; only the user-side buckets and the supply invariant are.
The operator is the simulated market maker: buying WAID sends it from the operator to you and selling returns it, at a fixed 1:1 simulated-USD peg with no fees and no real money. Posts hold their text as rented memory — power decays and, when it runs out, content is truncated and eventually pruned unless someone tops it up.
